Desiree' "Desi" Briley MPH, CHES

Desiree Briley (she/her) is a graduate from Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University with a Masters in Public Health and focus in Health Behaviors and Community Improvement. Joining the team in October of 2023, Desi brings experience as a certified health education specialist (CHES), working with community members in multiple eastern NC counties, and is dedicated to teaching diverse populations about preventative measures to improve overall health equity. Desi brings experience from leading multi-county programs focused on chronic disease prevention and addressing the social determinants of health. She was also a high school teacher. Desi is passionate about working with those dealing with substance use disorder, youth that have had adverse childhood experiences, mental illness and those engaging in risky behaviors. She looks forward to bringing accurate and research-based programs to youth around ENC to help foster an open, caring and supportive environment for them to be who they truly are. During her free time, she enjoys time on the water in the mountains or anywhere outdoors. She spends most of her time with her husband and black lab Cash, family and friends.
