Alicia Andrews is a resident of Ayden, NC, in Eastern NC. She serves as the Project Coordinator for the Duke Teen Health Club, with the Center for Health Policy Inequalities and Research at Duke University. In her position, she has assisted with the writing of state and federal grants, which have been awarded to continue and expand the Duke Teen Health Club across Eastern NC. Alicia is a graduate of North Carolina Central University, with a Bachelor’s in Public Health Education (2007) and a 2017 Widener University Master of Education graduate, specializing in Human Sexuality Studies. Her career experience spans from designing and implementing public and sexual health education programs, facilitating evidence-based programs for adolescents across NC, specifically in Eastern NC, designing and conducting professional development trainings, as well as organizing community programs and sexual health conferences. It is Alicia’s passion to continue building sustainable relationships with youth-serving professionals, community members and young people across the state to ensure there is access to quality, medically accurate, age-relevant, culturally and linguistically responsive health education that will address disparities among adolescents in Eastern NC and beyond.
