Our
Mission
The mission of ENC-HEAL is to deliver engaging, evidence-based sexual health education that is culturally relevant and empowers adolescents to make informed choices, build healthy relationships and prevent teen pregnancy. ENC-HEAL works collaboratively with communities to identify accessible resources that address the unique needs of our diverse communities, to build and advance health equity for youth. Through advocacy and innovative programs we foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes open communication equipping adolescents with knowledge and skills to contribute to their overall positive youth development and healthier futures

Our Funding
The Office of Population Affairs cooperative agreement Advancing Equity in Adolescent Health through Evidence-Based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs and Services was awarded to the Center for Health Policy and Inequalities Research (CHPIR) at Duke University in June 2023.

​This project will focus on building relationships across the region, informing ENC constituents (i.e. community stakeholders, parents/trusted adults, and youth) about this project. ENC-HEAL will also focus on expanding positive youth development with a focus in sexual health education, promoting teen pregnancy prevention and overall health equity for adolescents across Eastern North Carolina. ​​​​​
